Winemaker: Dominique Brousseau

“I love to tell visitors that Chateau du Vieux Corbeau Winery has ‘Franch Wine-Maker named Dominique’.  However, even though her name is French and she speaks a little French, she was born, raised and educated in Kentucky.”
- Andre Brousseau - co-owner of the winery

The Chateau Winery is privileged to have the youngest winemaker in Kentucky, Dominique. Dominique serves the dual role of both the Vineyard Manager as well as the Chief Winemaker. She believes that great wine is produced in the field, and so consequently she takes a personal interest in the maintenance, care and nurturing of the vines.

Dominique’s attention to detail and care is evident in the Award winning wines she has produced.  Three of her grape wines, her Vidal Blanc, her Chateau Rouge (Concord) and her Rio Samba Blush (a blend of three wines), have all won “People’s Choice Awards”.  Her Vidal has won first place for an Off-Dry White in both Louisiana and Virginia.  Her Chateau Rouge has taken firsts at both the Kentucky Derby Wine Festival as well as the Great American Brass Band WineFest.  And her Rio Samba Blush has taken first place at the American Brass Band WineFest.  In addition, her Blackberry wine won First Place as the People’s Choice of the Kentucky Derby Wine Festival.

Dominique is meticulous about the creation of her wines. She composes and then conducts the creation of her wines much like a Maestro conducting a symphony of flavors with an impeccable palette.
